Devon Kerr Matthews, Sunderland MA, born September 26, 1990, lived in Amherst most of her life died on June 10^th after a period of deep personal struggles.  She was beloved and is survived by her mother, Megan Kerr, father William Jr, brother William III, sister-in-law Genevieve, grandfather William Sr., her uncles Kevin and aunt, Nhoo Matthews, Peter and aunt Kathleen Matthews, Scot and aunt Karen Kerr and her uncle Mac Kerr as well her niece and cousins. She also leaves behind her beloved dog, Charlie. Devon preferred her nickname, “Henri”, given to her in gest as child by her father and she later then added “Sparrow”.  Henri Sparrow loved to draw, read voraciously, and was deeply dedicated to social justice issues of LGBTQ and Black Lives Matter. Henri has many friends around the county who loved and supported her. Even with her struggles, she loved life and regardless of how short her life was, she mattered. 

Funeral services will be held at the Douglass Funeral Service, 87 North Pleasant St. Amherst at 11 am Friday June 16^th, burial will be at Wildwood Cemetery Amherst at approximately 12:15.  Reception to follow.
