SUNDERLAND, Genevieve R. Krawczyk, 93, of 232 Hadley Road, Sunderland, died March 15, 2013 at the Fisher Home in Amherst.  Born in Sunderland, May 29, 1919, she was the daughter of the late Andrew and Mary (Begos) Dzenis.  Genevieve was the owner of several hair salons in Amherst, beginning in 1946.  She owned and operated the Beauty Bar on Northampton Road, until her retirement in 1983.  Her retirement years were filled with gardening, crafts, cake decorating, and numerous clubs and organizations including Eastern Star, the Northampton Hairdressers and Cosmetologists, the American Legion Auxiliary, Western Mass Model “A” restorers club, the Yankee Motor Club, the Letter Carriers Auxiliary, and the Lake Wyola Association.  She was predeceased by first husband, Michael Lapinski, and her second husband John C. Krawczyk whom she married January 4, 1949 in Holy Name of Jesus Church in South Deerfield.  She leaves her daughter Susan Krawczyk and her partner Paul Berthiaume of Sunderland with whom she lived; daughter Dorothy Agger-Gupta and her husband Niels of Victoria, British Columbia; her son John Krawczyk and his wife Linda, of Grants Pass, Oregon; grandchildren Craig and Kevin Eastman, Amber Black; Brice, Todd, Reeve, Joel, and Glen Krawczyk; great-granddaughters, Eva Black, Isabelle Eastman, and great-grandsons Evan and Andrew Krawczyk; her brothers Edward Dzenis of Northampton and Andrew Dzenis of South Deerfield; and several nieces and nephews.  She was predeceased by her sister Leonora Haygood.  A calling hour will be held Tuesday, March 19th from 8:30 – 9:30 a.m. at the Douglass Funeral Service, Amherst with a Requiem Mass in Holy Name of Jesus Church in South Deerfield at 10:00 a.m.  Burial will be at a later date in the Holy Name of Jesus Cemetery in South Deerfield.  In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Hospice of The Fisher Home, 1165 North Pleasant Street, Amherst, MA 01002 or Holy Name of Jesus Church, 15 Thayer Street, South Deerfield, MA 01373.
