FRANCES J. KOSARICK of CAP COD AND AMHERST, April 8, 1929 – February 23, 2015
Amherst, Frances J. (Mueller) Kosarick, 85, died peacefully at the Pleasant Bay Rehabilitation and Nursing Center in Brewster, Ma ., February 23, 2015. Born April 8, 1929 in Madison, Wi, she was the daughter of Jewel (Pattengale) and Prof. William S. Mueller, who arrived in Amherst late in August, 1929, to perform research at Mass Aggie. She attended Amherst schools, she graduated from Amherst High School (1947) and Northampton Commercial College. She worked at Amherst College as a secretary until the birth of her first child.
She is survived by her husband of 63 years, Everett Kosarick of Eastham and Amherst, and five sons: Mark of Amherst; Keith of Elijay, Ga, and his wife, Heidi, their daughter, Kelly, and son, Adam and his wife, Destiny; Carl of Las Vegas; Scott of Amherst; and Todd of Sunderland. There is one great-grandson. She was pre-deceased by her brother, William.
For the past thirty years Frances had lived on Cape Cod. She was an avid bird watcher and naturalist. She was an accomplished cook and loved to experiment. She won several first prizes for recipe submissions to local papers. She was related to Betsy Ross and Orville Redenbacher was her cousin.
Funeral services will be Tuesday, March 3rd at 11 a.m. at The Douglass Funeral Service in Amherst, followed by burial services at Wildwood Cemetery, Amherst.
