JOSEPHINE P. WOYNAR 

AMHERST, Josephine P. (Srodulski) Woynar, 90, a long time Amherst resident died peacefully at home on Saturday, Aug. 18th, surrounded by her family. Born in Indian Orchard on October 15, 1921, she was the daughter of the late Albert and Katherine (Mrozek) Srodulski. She worked as a laboratory technician at Monsanto during the war and also served as an air-raid warden. As a long time communicant of St. Brigid’s Church, Amherst, Josephine participated in many church functions and was always envied for her pineapple cheesecake recipe. In her younger years she was an avid gardener. She is survived by her sons, John G. and his companion Geraldine and Mark A. Woynar, her grandchildren Charlotte and Joseph and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband Michael J. Woynar, Jr. in 2002, three brothers and four sisters. Funeral services will be Thursday, August 23, at 9:00 a.m. from the Douglass Funeral Service, Amherst with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 a.m. in St. Brigid’s Church, Amherst. Burial will follow in St. Brigid’s Cemetery, Hadley. Calling hours will be Wednesday, Aug. 22, from 5-8 p.m. at the Douglass Funeral Service.
